Junior Admin: From Curious to Capable
A small‑group, hands‑on digital skills course that gives high schoolers a clear, practical look at how modern organizations run — and the tools professionals use to keep them moving.
An 8-week, hands-on course where high schoolers learn how modern organizations actually run — taught by a Salesforce-certified professional with 18 years of experience and a doctorate in education.
Most students choose a major having never once seen inside a real profession. This is eight weeks of actually looking.
Behind every company, clinic, nonprofit, and campus is a system that organizes information, supports decision-making, and keeps the work moving. Someone designs that system, secures it, and keeps it working for the people who depend on it. In this course, students learn how those systems function — seeing real examples, practicing in their own private workspace, and building foundational skills in data, security, automation, and problem-solving.
Each week pairs short, interactive lessons with two hours of live instruction in a group capped at 10. It's built for teens who enjoy puzzles, like technology but don't want a coding-heavy class, and want a clearer sense of how digital tools shape every field — from business and healthcare to marketing, science, and education.
This isn't a certification bootcamp or a shortcut around college. It's a practical, confidence-building introduction to a real profession — early exposure to skills that strengthen any future major, and that can lead to internships, campus jobs, or simply a more informed sense of direction.
Next class starts August 31 at 3:30pm
What Students Will Learn
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
✓ Explain what a CRM is and why nearly every organisation runs one
✓ Navigate a real business system confidently instead of guessing
✓ Understand how an organization's data actually fits together — objects, fields, and relationships
✓ Control who can see what, which is the most sensitive thing anyone in this role touches
✓ Customize a serious business platform without writing a line of code
✓ Build a report that answers a real question someone actually asked
✓ Build working automation that does a job by itself
✓ Explain what an AI agent is, what it's for, and what it can't do
✓ Show a public profile of verified badges to an employer or an admissions officer
✓ Describe the real paths into this profession — accurately, without the hype
Week 1
What Even Is This?
Every organization you've heard of runs on software you haven't. Let's fix that.
-
Mon–Thu (~5 hrs): What a CRM is and why it exists. The platform, and the work that happens inside it. Set up a free account and a practice system of their own. Earn a first badge.
-
Friday, live (2 hrs): Meet your instructor. Watch what this work actually looks like on a Tuesday afternoon, in a real system. Honest expectations: what eight weeks gets you and what it doesn't. Every beginner question answered — that's what week 1 is for.
Week 2
Getting Around
Stop being a tourist. Learn where everything lives.
-
Mon–Thu (~4.5 hrs): Navigation and the settings menu. The building blocks every organisation uses — customers, contacts, deals. Records, lists, and search.
-
Friday, live (2 hrs): A guided tour of a real working system. Students drive, instructor coaches. The traps beginners fall into, and how to climb out.
Week 4
Who Can See What
The heaviest week in the course — and the most important - Security!
Mon–Thu (~7.5 hrs): What a user is. Permissions and profiles. Roles, sharing, and who's allowed to see which records. This is comfortably the longest week — plan for it. We'd rather tell you now than have you find out on a Wednesday night.
-
Friday, live (2 hrs): A real "why can this person see that?" investigation, live. Why this is the most sensitive thing in the whole system.
Week 5
Making It Yours
Customize a serious platform without writing code.
-
Mon–Thu (~5 hrs): Custom fields. Formulas and rules that stop people from entering nonsense. Building pages.
-
Friday, live (2 hrs): Build something together, start to finish. Then break it on purpose and watch a professional debug it out loud — the part you cannot learn from a video.
Week 6
Answering the Question
Anyone can build a report. Professionals build the one that was actually asked for.
-
Mon–Thu (~6 hrs): Reports, filters, and formats. Grouping and summarising. Dashboards.
-
Friday, live (2 hrs): "Leadership wants to know this by Friday." Students build the answer, live.
Week 7
Robots Doing Your Homework
Automation and AI — the two things that make this work feel like magic.
-
Mon–Thu (~6 hrs): What automation is and when to use it. Build a first working automation. What an AI agent actually is.
-
Friday, live (2 hrs): Build automation together. An AI agent demo — plus an honest conversation about what AI genuinely can't do.
Week 8
So… Is This You?
No new platform content. This week is about what comes next.
-
Mon–Thu (~2 hrs): The certification ladder, told straight. Polish the public profile that's now a portfolio. The real routes into this kind of work — including the ones that run straight through a degree.
-
Friday, live (2 hrs): A career conversation with your instructor: how they actually got here, what the next six months looks like if your student wants to keep going, and how to talk about all of this on a college application.
Week 3
How the Data Fits Together
The week the software stops being software and becomes something you design.
-
Mon–Thu (~5 hrs): Objects and fields. How records connect. Different layouts for different teams. This comes before security on purpose — you can't decide who sees a record until you understand what a record is.
-
Friday, live (2 hrs): Design a data model together from a real problem. Students propose, instructor stress-tests.

Learning by Doing
What Makes This Course Different?
Learn by Doing
Students work in a real system from week 1, not a slideshow. Every badge is earned by building something that has to actually work.
Build Real-World Skills
Data modeling, permissions, reporting, automation, and AI literacy are the skills of modern organizations. They transfer far beyond this one platform — into whatever your student ends up studying — and they look unlike anything else on a 17-year-old's application.
Develop Confidence
Sixteen hours with someone who has done this professionally for eighteen years, answering questions from teenagers without ever making one feel stupid for asking. That's the product. Everything else is homework.
Flexible Self-Paced Learning
Monday through Thursday runs on your family's schedule. Only Friday is fixed.
Students receive:
✓ Eight 2-hour live sessions — 16 live hours — capped at 10 students
✓ An instructor with 18 years in the field, Salesforce certified, and a doctorate in education
✓ A day-by-day plan, Monday through Thursday, so nobody guesses what's next
✓ Curated free lessons in a fixed order — the content isn't the hard part; knowing which parts matter is
✓ Their own practice system to build in and break
✓ Verified badges on a public professional profile
✓ An hours log and completion documentation for homeschool transcripts
✓ A live career session and an honest roadmap for what comes after
✓ Somewhere to ask the question they'd be embarrassed to ask anyone else
Time Commitment - Honestly
About 6–7 hours a week. Roughly 56 hours across the eight weeks.
The hours are published week by week above, including the fact that week 4 is nearly four times week 8. Most courses round this down to make the sale. We'd rather you planned properly.
For homeschool families: at roughly 56 hours, this sits within range of a half-credit high school elective. Ask us about the hours log and completion documentation if you're building a transcript.
